Squeak... I likey likey... and the angle seems good.
So let's see... who is this guy:

  • He's got that fish out of water feel about him... like that Indian guy from Van Wilder.

  • The leads see themselves as sort of a mentor to him. It's their job, their solemn quest to help this guy reach his potential... think Matt Green without the whiny crap that makes one not help him as much

  • He's the nicest, most innocent guy these two have ever met, and people give him shit. He constantly does stuff for people, but they walk all over him, except for our guys.

  • There may even be a bit of egoism involved for our guys. They help out Sqeak, but why? My guess is that some of it might be compassion, but if these guys are anything like us, compassion isn't a huge part. It's almost like these two feel it necessary to be magnanimous.

That's enough for now... any additions, deletions?
BTW, "don't touch me..." Great pic.

Our Inspiration
Response to a Brother's first post

Alistair Jones is a fine name...
I think that college juniors is appropriate. I feel that it should be a time where the guys are at the top of their "game," but not too old to not care about anything like seniors. (essentially, I picture us as we were during the spring of the junior year when we RAN THE DAMN SHOW!!!) I think that Jiz year is the perfect timeframe... and a good detail to have, I hadn't thought of that yet.

As for the lack of money reason... I don't know. I liked your angle and hadn't come up with one of my own, but it just doesn't click with me. When I think about the set-up for that whole business... I feel like we're going to have to come up with something fatnastic (not a spelling error... my new word. like it?) for it to stick. What would make us desperate enough to harass a teacher for money? OR...
Is money not the motivation? Do we help out "HANK" just because we like the guy (so maybe we should create a timid, sweet dorky kinda guy) and that teacher pisses us off because he get's his jollies on belittling students. Then, as thanks, "Hank" throws some dough our way... THEN we get the idea of contracting. That way, we use the stock market angle, talk about ways to get more money, help the friend in a side story and have our solution. What do you think?
I am trying to be honest like you said :) and I agree... let's be true to one another and get the best sheeought. If we can't be honest with each other...
So I promise to lay aside my gentle feelings. for you. so we have a deal.

I'll try to jam more later, but this is great so far... nice place to air the thoughts and get some workflow going. This is going to kick ass!!!
This is fun too, isn't it?

THE OUTLINE

Note: Chapters alternate authors between Brandon and Andy, using the different voice of the respective character; giving each chapter a different voice, and furthering the story from a different perspective. What results is a creation of two minds, instead of one. (Which also mirrors the method used to write it)
Note 2: This outline is spotty… just trying to give us a tug

I. The Setup
a. Begin at the end… “Sample I have started starts with the guys facing gunpoint”
b. Is this beginning at the end riff too overused? I like it, but I’m probably biased
II. The Characters
a. Eric August (Andy McClain)
b. "AJ" Alistair Jones (Brandon Satrom)
III. The Problem
a. These guys need some dough
b. Lost scholarship money in the stock market
IV. The Lucky Break
a. By
V. The Apparent Solution
VI. The Bad Idea
VII. The Beginning
VIII. The End
Let's get to some outlining and sheeought!!!
